Have we moved?

We were wondering if we had moved to somewhere else on the earth ...... everything seems the same but it is so darned hot and sticky. We are not used to this, we can't have fun without getting worn out really quickly, we pant all the time, and the humans have no energy to play with us. This has been going on for weeks and weeks now. What is going on?

Day out.

Yesterday we went out on the boat again, on the river, and pulled ashore on the dunes. We got out and had a great time running up and down the dunes, chasing away some cows that were there (where did they come from?) .... and we both ventured in to do a bit of swimming, much to the delight of the humans. We are still wary of this swimming business but getting braver each time we try it. It was good to be cool for sure.

Phew!

It's mighty hot and we don't like it. All we can manage all day is to lounge around panting. By the time it's cool enough to run and play, it's time for bed. Roll on the end of summer.

Changes

It's funny living with humans. Things seem to change, stuff happens, and then things change back again. A few weeks ago a tree appeared in our house - not a real tree by the smell of it, but it had lights, shiny things, and stars on it. Then lots of red and white things appeared around the house. For the next few weeks lots of people came and went, lots of frustratingly lovely smelling foods were around, and the humans gave each other boxes which they then opened and gave us the paper - like we didn't want what was inside! We did get lots of treats though - usually when they wanted to occupy us whilst they did something else...... bit of a double edged sword that one, we love treats but why do we have to be 'diverted'?
Then - all of a sudden all is gone! No tree, no red & white stuff, no candles, no boxes with goodies inside ..... all back to normal. No explanation, not so much as hint of apology - just back to normal.
Humans are so funny.
